Hunter Theatre Arts

Hunter Theatre Arts, based in Guidepost, Northumberland, was established in 2006 by Principal Barbara Hunter after she decided to bring together her love of teaching and vast performing experience. Barbara also currently works for the Royal Ballet and Opera House as an Associate Artist on their Chance to Dance program. 

Since its opening, the school has gone from strength to strength.  HTA prides it self on its friendly, caring atmosphere and delivery of sound, safe, technical training.  Training provided by professional, qualified dance teachers.  Past pupils have gone on to further training in the UK's top colleges such as Urdang Academy, Wilkes Academy, Bird College, Performers College, Jelly Studios, The Place, Renaissance Arts and EAST 15.

Hunter Theatre Arts offers classes in Ballet, Tap, Acro, Contemporary Modern Jazz, Musical Theatre, Theatre Craft, Cheerdance, Commercial and LAMDA Acting.

We offer Examinations accredited by OFQUAL through the IDTA and LAMDA. Children can participate in our biannual whole school production as well as international performing opportunities. Children also have the opportunity to join our competition team lead by our Co-Principal Stephanie Lund.
